Baumgardner & Sons was founded in 1937 by Geo. Baumgardner. George was born(1903) and raised in  Beavercreek, Ohio. George had got his start in the Electric Motor Industry working for Delco around 1925, and being transferred to the Booming Industrial Cleveland, Ohio Area. After working in Cleveland for Delco for a few years he decided to try his hand in his own business. Starting out in a Garage (1937) on the Eastside of Cleveland, he quickly out grew that, and purchased his first building on East 116th Street and Superior Ave. .   (Pictures taken 1947) Shortly after the end of WWII George's younger brother Harold joined him in Cleveland. After occupying that building for 20 years we moved to Collingwood area of Cleveland, where we remain today. In 1969 Independent Motor Repair Incorporated going from Independent Motor Repair to Baumgardner & Sons Inc. For the next 30 years George's  Sons Dwight & Richard ran the Day to Day operations. Today Dwight's two sons Eric & Paul are continuing the family business that started more then 60 years ago.
